Meet Sanaa Boukhanfer Baksh (BA)

Hello, I'm Sanaa — a BACP registered therapist and integrative counsellor.

I’m passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges while honouring their faith, culture, and personal values. My approach blends compassion with experience, creating a space where you feel truly seen and supported.

As a Muslim woman who has lived and worked across different cultures, I understand the delicate balance between tradition, faith, and modern life. These experiences shape the way I connect with clients, especially those facing identity struggles, family tensions, cultural conflicts, or spiritual concerns.

I speak several languages—Arabic, Moroccan Darija, Tachelhit, French, and English—which means you can express yourself in the language that feels most natural to you.

My therapy style is integrative, drawing from a range of evidence-based techniques including , cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness, trauma-informed care, solution-focused  and Islamic approaches. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I often explore how your relationships, roles, and beliefs shape your emotional world, and when helpful, I involve key people in your life to support healing and growth.

I offer flexible sessions during weekdays, evenings, and weekends. You’re welcome to meet me in my warm therapy room in Middlesbrough or connect online from wherever you are.

I’m fully insured and committed to professional standards, but more importantly, I’m committed to you. I offer a safe, respectful space where your story matters, your identity is honoured, and your potential is nurtured.

Whether you're seeking clarity, healing, or simply someone to talk to, I’m here to walk alongside you. Together, we’ll build understanding, resilience, and healthier ways of connecting—with yourself and with others.
